What is Surface Mimic?

Surface Mimic provides 3d scanned depth maps for digital sculpting. This allows Zbrush and Mudbox users to apply realistic geometric details to high resolution models in single brushstrokes.

We’re a young company, but we’re growing our library quickly with the goal of making it an invaluable resource for digital artists. Our goal is to provide an online gallery site with thousands of surface scans.

Our members are game industry veterans with over 15 years of professional experience. Originally, building 3d scanners was a side project, but when we shared our secret project with artist friends they loved it and wanted to use it. So we started developing it into a commercial product.

We have big plans to develop and expand our 3d surface scans. We believe our product fills a valuable niche that will continue to grow as expectations for better 3d content increase. Our experience in the industry has shown us that quality content is expensive and increasingly time consuming, and this is something we hope to alleviate.
